Pharmacists oppose profit cuts

Health Minister Andreas Loverdos is expected to announce on Wednesday a reduction for pharmacists of the profit margin on the drugs they sell.

It is expected that the reduction will be 15 percent, which prompted the Panhellenic Pharmacists? Association to write to Loverdos on Tuesday and remind him that its members would stop supplying medicines on credit to customers that are insured with social security funds that owe pharmacies money.

The association said that the narrowing of their profit margin was an ?unfair an ineffective measure that would lead to the end of the small neighborhood pharmacy.
