Farmers rev up for protests
Farmers are to launch a new wave of protest action from next week, staging demonstrations outside offices of the Greek Farming Insurance Fund (ELGA) around the country.
The farmers, who are protesting at new taxes imposed on their sector, aim to scale up their action in the countdown the annual Agrotica farm equipment fair in Thessaloniki on February 5.
It is unclear if blocking key road junctions will form part of their protest action, as has been the case in the past.
