Eight charged over disturbance on Rhodes
Eight people aged between 16 and 38 were charged on Rhodes Wednesday with a range of offenses including disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after disrupting a public event on the island, which was being attended by several MPs and other dignitaries.
Police said the eight were members of a group that broke through barriers and attempted to reach the podium.
One of the eight people arrested was carrying a penknife, police said.
