Palaiocostas associate in Moschato bomb hoax
A man who threatened to blow himself up outside a toy store in Moschato, southern Athens, on Monday is an associate of the Palaiocostas brothers, Greece?s infamous serial robbers, police said after detaining him.
The man, who had violated the terms of his release from jail, was reported to police by passers-by who saw him sleeping in a parked car and regarded him as suspicious.
When officers arrived, the man ran into the toy store, emerging later to return to the car.
He removed what witnesses described as explosives from the trunk and threatened to detonate them.
It emerged that he had been holding two candles and a firework.
