Man admits to killing woman in Exarchia last month
A 53-year-old man has admitted to strangling to death a 39-year-old woman in the central Athens district of Exarchia last month, according to police.
The body of the woman, with whom the man is believed to have cohabited briefly, was found in an abandoned building.
In a bid to curb crime in Athens, authorities on Tuesday boosted the DIAS motorcycle-riding squad with 200 more officers and are to add another 800 by the end of this month.
