Protesters clash with police in capital

Police have clashed with truck drivers and dock workers gathered outside Greeces central bank to protest benefit cuts following a massive debt deal.

Police used tear gas and batons against the protesters as they approached the Bank of Greeces entrance in Athens on Friday, and one protester was hospitalized with injuries.

Protesters, dressed in orange work vests and waving black flags, are angry at cuts in one-off retirement payments after pension funds were hit in an international bond-swap deal between the government and private holders of Greek bonds. [AP]
