Rethymno bathers scramble to avoid sewage spill
Dozens of tourists on the main beach at Rethymno, Crete, were in for a filthy surprise Sunday when a nearby sewage pipe broke, spewing waste along the coast.
The accident was caused by a technical failure that caused the pipe to clog up. Experts were inspecting water quality near the beach.
