University rector cries foul amid overspending claims
Education Minister Constantinos Arvanitopoulos on Wednesday called on the rector of Thessaloniki?s Aristotle University, Ioannis Mylopoulos (photo), to respond to revelations made by the Eleftheros Typos daily that as head of the university?s finance committee, he had approved needless expenses in 2011 for renovations to the premises, including his personal bathroom.
?Light must be shed on the management of public money,? Arvanitopoulos said, with Mylopoulos dismissing the publication as ?a targeted attack aimed at marring the image of state universities.?
