Prosecutor probes events at Aristotle University
A court of first instance prosecutor in Thessaloniki on Thursday ordered two investigations to determine whether criminal charges need to be brought against unidentified individuals following a series of violent assaults against university students by members of far-left groups and claims by students that “a climate of violence and terrorism” is prevailing at the institution.
The prosecutor, Evangelos Mademlis, is to investigate whether any of the alleged assailants should face charges of causing grievous bodily harm, damage to property and holding people against their will.
