Ministry and prosecutor receive Lagarde list data
The so-called Lagarde list, which contains the name of some 2,000 Greeks who held accounts at the Geneva branch of HSBC over the past few years, has been received by the Finance Ministry and passed to financial prosecutors, it was revealed on Friday.
French authorities sent a new list after the original, handed to Greece in 2010 by France’s then Finance Minister Christine Lagarde, appeared to have disappeared.
A copy of the list was found by PASOK leader and former Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos.
It is also being investigated for possible tax evaders by financial prosecutors.
