Minister accepts proposal to allow unpaid radio staff to take over stations

Justice Minister Antonis Roupakiotis on Wednesday accepted a proposal for an amendment to the law that would allow radio journalists who have not been paid to form cooperatives and take over the broadcasting licenses held by their employers.

The proposal was made by PASOK MP Apostolos Kaklamanis and has the support of SYRIZA.

The amendment comes in the wake of employees at Flash radio being left unpaid for several months, said Kaklamanis.
