Greek social security funds ordered to halt payments to ghost claimants

Labor Minister Yiannis Droutsis sent an emergency circular to all social security funds on Wednesday, ordering them to cease pension payments to recipients who failed to participate in the 2012 and 2013 censuses, in an effort to weed out bogus claimants.

By April 12, fund managers are also required to update the central beneficiaries database with the details of insured parties who have failed to register with their funds.
