Weekend foray of Greek traffic police yields 670 uninsured vehicles
Over 600 vehicles were found to be circulating on the streets of Greece without insurance on the weekend of April 6-7, during a foray by traffic police on roads all over the country.
The Traffic Police dispatched 791 patrols last weekend to stop drivers and check for compliance with the Highway Code. From the 27,374 vehicles that were pulled over, officers issued fines for 2,345 violations, top among which were circulating without insurance (670), riding a motorcycle without a helmet (431), driving a vehicle that has not undergone a safety inspection (417) and driving under the influence of alcohol (351).
