Private sector union calls for Labor Day strike on May 1 proper
Greece’s main private sector union, GSEE, has called for a general strike on May 1.
GSEE chief Yiannis Panagopoulos on Wednesday slammed a government decision to transfer the May 1 public holiday to May 7 in a bid to boost consumption during the Orthodox Holy Week.
May 1 is a “day of struggle and memory for the labor movement,” he said.
