Doctors offer free services for the poor

An initiative aimed at offering voluntary medical and psychological support to the growing ranks of the capital’s poor, unemployed and uninsured was heralded Tuesday by members of the Athens Medical School.

The drive, dubbed “Health Allies,” aims to “provide medical, psychological and social support and offer free goods and services,” according to its supervisor, Yiannis Tountas.

Doctors and students interested in joining can visit www.symmaxoiygeias.uoa.gr or call 210.748.2015/7564 or 210.775.9962.
