Roma brawl in Serres leaves one injured
One person suffered stab wounds in a clash between members of the Roma community in the municipality of Irakleia in Serres, northern Greece, early on Friday.
According to residents, shots were fired and knives drawn during the brawl which appears to have been prompted by a personal dispute.
The man hurt in the clash is not believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Authorities last year launched a crackdown on illegal Roma settlements around the country after police suggested that many operate as almost impregnable strongholds for criminal gangs.
