Parliamentary employees set to lose wage and pension perks
Parliamentary employees are set to lose any pay or benefits they receive in addition to other civil servants after the State Audit Council deemed that Parliament does not have the right to set these terms.
The court was investigating the matter after the government asked for a law bestowing better pay and conditions on parliamentary employees to be repealed.
The State Audit Council ruled that the current law on wages and pensions should not continue to apply.
The court is due to hold another plenary session for the decision to be finalized.
