Man arrested in Athens on suspicion of illegal antiquities trading

A 53-year-old man was arrested at Floisvos Marina in southern Athens on Thursday on suspicion of trying to sell antiquities dating to the Neolithic era for 600,000 euros.

Police seized 640 Neolithic items and 840 ancient coins, mostly from the Hellenistic period, after arresting the suspect in the marina’s parking lot.

They also found 391 coins at his home.
