July 16 general strike to disrupt public transport

Staff operating intercity trains across the country are participating in 24-hour strike called by Greece’s main umbrella unions, GSEE and ADEDY, on Tuesday, July 16.

All services will be halted, except for the tourist routes of Olympia-Pyrgos-Katakolo in the Peloponnese and Ano Lechonia-Milies in Mount Pelion, central Greece.

Service will also be halted on the Athens metro’s Doukissis Plakentias-Athens International Airport route.

A number of services are also to be disrupted on Monday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 17.
