Court refuses to give Tsochatzopoulos more time to prepare
Judges hearing the case of former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, who is on trial for money laundering, are to decide on Monday when the ex-PASOK official should begin his testimony.
The court, however, has rejected his request that he be given until August 26 to study almost 31,000 pages of witness statements and other evidence collected during the trial.
Tsochatzopoulos complained that he would not receive a fair trial if he was not allowed more time to consult with his lawyers and that other defendants would have more time to prepare as he will be the first of 19 suspects to be questioned in court.
