Tsipras calls for ‘regime change’ in Greece

SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras has called for “regime change” in Greece as he continues a national tour during which he is holding talks with local organizations.

Speaking in Igoumenitsa, northwestern Greece, on Thursday night, Tsipras said a SYRIZA government would stamp out corruption.

“The regime of corruption, of the quick buck and of unfairness will be consigned to history,” he said.

Tsipras also called for greater accountability among public officials, citing Greece’s privatization fund (TAIPED) as a particular example. He said the organization’s board had refused SYRIZA access to the minutes of its meeting.
