Series of quakes hit Fthiotida after Parga tremor [UPDATE]

A series of earthquakes measuring between 3.2 and 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the area of Elateia in Fthiotida between 2.50 p.m. and 4.15 p.m. on Friday but there were no reports of any injuries or damage.

The quakes came two days after tremors measuring 4.1 and 5.1 on the Richter scale that struck the area of Amfikleia, also in Fthiotida, and were followed by dozens of milder aftershocks, which damaged more than 300 homes.

Early on Friday, a 4.5-magnitude quake struck the area of Parga, in northwestern Greece, shortly before 7.30 a.m. on Friday but there were no reports of any injuries or damage. The tremor was felt in nearby Preveza and Igoumenitsa.
