Six suspected heroin ring members held for questioning in Attica
Police on Wednesday were questioning six suspected members of a heroin-smuggling ring, all Albanian nationals aged between 31 and 36, following a series of raids in Nea Peramos, western Attica, that followed a tip-off from police in Thessaloniki.
Police confiscated around 7 kilograms of heroin following searches on vehicles believed to have been used by the suspected ring members, four men and two women.
According to a police investigation, the ring has smuggled some 218 kilograms into the country from Turkey since last November, netting an estimated 1.5 million euros in illicit profits.
