Probe into claims that officials took bribes to issue illegal vendor permits

Interior Minister Yiannis Michelakis on Friday asked local authorities in Attica to investigate claims that officials are accepting bribes to issue licenses to vendors who want to operate stalls at open-air fruit and vegetable markets.

Michelakis also sent two of his ministry’s employees to a disciplinary panel.
