75 school buses cited for safety violations
Traffic police in Attica and Thessaloniki stopped almost 1,500 school buses Wednesday, on the first day of the new academic year, and conducted safety checks on the vehicles, which revealed 75 offenses.
These included worn tires, lack of proper permits and non-use of seat belts.
Authorities said they would continue to conduct checks throughout the year.
