Young convicts at Attica jail praised for passing university entrance exams
Four inmates at a youth offenders’ institution in Avlona, north of Athens, are to be awarded cash prizes after securing places at universities and technical colleges, Justice Minister Haralambos Athanasiou (photo) said on Tuesday.
The three young men are to be given 500 euros each after passing their university entrance exams.
Athanasiou promised further help from the state during their studies.
He said their achievement was “highly significant.”
