Thessaloniki regional officials suspended over road spending

Central Macedonia Deputy Governor Giorgos Tsamaslis (photo) and Councilor Dionysis Psomiadis were suspended Wednesday pending an investigation into alleged cost overruns in the construction of a road between Thessaloniki and Oraiokastro.

Governor Apostolos Tzitzicostas appointed Theofanis Pappas to replace Tsamaslis.
