Five Georgians sentenced for Ioannina murder last year
A court in Preveza, northwestern Greece, on Wednesday handed down two life sentences each to four of five Georgian nationals charged with the violent murder of a 67-year-old woman in nearby Ioannina in May last year.
The fifth defendant, a woman, was given a life sentence and an additional 13-year term for her part in the murder of Kaiti Douvli.
Douvli was set up by the Georgians, who had posed as potential tenants of a property she owned in Ioannina.
The assailants beat her to death before robbing her home.
