Eight caught for armed robberies in Attica

Eight alleged members of a gang that carried out a series of armed robberies on stores in Attica over at least the last five months were arrested on Saturday.

The gang is thought to be behind 10 robberies, with targets including gas stations, supermarkets and kiosks mainly in the neighborhoods of Piraeus and Aegaleo.

Its members are also believed to have broken in to the premises of two courier companies.

The suspects are aged between 20 and 32. A hunting rifle, two air guns, a flare gun, various ammunition and almost 20,000 euros in cash were found in their possession.
