Golden Dawn MP’s trial postponed

The trial of Golden Dawn MP Costas Barbarousis, who was due to appear in court Tuesday in Msesolonghi along with another 10 members of the ultranationalist party, has been postponed to November 10 as three of the defendants did not have legal representation in court.

Barbarousis and his fellow Golden Dawn members are accused of destroying several migrants’ stalls at an open-air market in the Peloponnesian town in September last year. All 11 suspects are facing charges of usurping authority, damaging property and violent behavior.

At the trial prosecutors are expected to invoke a 1979 anti-racism law.
