Six Roma arrested after opening fire on police near Patra

Six people, all members of the Roma community, have been arrested after opening fire on police near Patra, in the western Peloponnese.

Charges against the suspects – four men aged between 17 and 60, and two women aged 30 and 60 – include attempted murder and illegal arms possession.

Police were allegedly attacked on Friday during an investigation into a report of a jewelry theft in the area of Psarofai.

One of the suspects and one woman were injured during the exchange of fire.
