Greece’s EOPYY doctors decide to extend action to Jan 10
Doctors working with the National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY) have decided to extend their strike action to January 10 in protest at planned changes to the National Healthcare System (ESY).
The union said emergency incidents would be handled by emergency staff.
In comments made Tuesday, EOPYY head Dimitris Kontos admitted that the transition to the new scheme will upset doctors’ professional and personal lives, adding however that “dialogue is the only available road and the success of the plan relies on ensuring the greatest possible consensus.”
