40th Aegean Rally…

Thirty-nine of 55 starting sailboats finished the first, and longest, leg of the 40th Aegean Rally early yesterday. The winners in each of the two classes took about 37 hours to cover the 159 nautical miles from Faliron to Rethymnon, in Crete. The second, and shortest, leg, from Rethymnon to Hania, will take place on Wednesday. Aegean Rally finishers will cross the line at the Athens suburb of Vouliagmeni next Monday.
