Annual police report shows drop in crime
There were 17.9 percent fewer muggings in 2013 compared to the previous year, 15.2 percent fewer robberies and home break-ins, and 11.9 percent fewer homicides, the annual report on crime compiled by the Greek Police showed on Friday.
Bank heists dropped 26.7 percent last year compared to 2012 and burglaries decreased 20 percent.
“Given the circumstances, this is a massive achievement,” Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias said following the publication of the report.
