Sources deny ex-Ukraine president Yanukovych is at Mount Athos

Sources at the semi-autonomous monastic community of Mount Athos denied on Wednesday reports in Ukraine that former President Viktor Yanukovych is hiding there.

“Such reports bear no relation to reality and the only thing they do is damage the image of the holy community across the world,” the source, who did not wish to be identified, told Kathimerini.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian Parliament voted to send the ex-president to the International Criminal Court in The Hague to answer charges in connection to the death of 82 protesters in Kiev last week.
