Lawyer Kougias no longer representing ex-GD MP
Celebrity lawyer Alexis Kougias on Tuesday resigned as defense lawyer for former Golden Dawn lawmaker Stathis Boukouras, who now stands as an independent in Parliament, without stating the reasons for his withdrawal.
Just days before a prosecutor is expected to indict dozens of members and MPs of the neofascist party on criminal charges, Kougias issued a brief statement saying that he would no longer represent Boukouras “for reasons of personal and professional decency.”
He said the confidential nature of his relationship with Kougias prevented him from divulging any further details.
