Public administration inspector to be given more hands

The man responsible for uncovering corruption in the public sector is to be give more staff, it was revealed on Friday.

According to legislation submitted to Parliament, public administration general inspector Leandros Rakintzis (photo) is to be given another four employees.

The new staff will work as special inspectors, who receive higher wages than other civil servants.

As a result of the transfer of personnel, Rakintzis will have a total of 12 special inspectors at his disposal. His office will have 25 members of staff in all.
