DIMAR leader says he has ‘no evidence’ of MPs being bribed
Democratic Left (DIMAR) leader Fotis Kouvelis said on Friday that he knows of no MP being bribed in connection with February’s presidential vote.
Kouvelis made the comment after being questioned by appeals court prosecutor Panayiotis Panayiotopoulos, who is investigating a newspaper report alleging that businessmen were collecting money to buy MPs’ votes on behalf of the government early next year.
“I find it inconceivable that there is a Greek lawmaker who would decide on their choice for president of the republic based on a financial exchange or favor,” said the DIMAR chief. “In any case, I have no such evidence.”
