Evidence regarding the criminal activity of neofascist Golden Dawn, which is contained in a 700-page report submitted to a council of judges by prosecutor Isidoros Doyiakos, exposes a Nazi-inspired mystical personality cult centered around the figure of party leader Nikos Michaloliakos, Kathimerini understands.
“Loyalty to the leader,” says the prosecutor based on confiscated footage and testimonies taken from five protected witnesses, “was sealed with a mystical oath-taking ceremony in a state of quasi-religious devotion.” These ceremonies were allegedly organized by senior members in the hierarchy, and took place during the spring and winter solstices.
“Docile and obedient followers of their leaders’ dictates, they were keen to execute any kind of order regardless of the cost,” the report says. “They were prepared and willing to even take human lives.”
A final indictment will be issued by the three-member judicial council.
