Democratic Left (DIMAR) defector Spyros Lykoudis is expected to announce the creation of a new “political initiative” on Tuesday. Lykoudis resigned from the party in September over disagreements with Fotis Kouvelis’s leadership.
Lykoudis, now an independent lawmaker, said he would like to be the creator of a “grand strategy” that would bring together Greece’s center-left.
Lykoudis added that he would be prepared to vote for the government’s candidate for president of the republic in February, depending on the candidate. The MP said he is against the idea of going to early elections.
