Woman killed by tram on Athens’s south coast identified

Authorities on Friday identified a woman who was killed by an oncoming tram on Athens’s southern coast in the early hours as being an Armenian aged 57.

It appears from reports that the woman was walking on the tracks in the Floisvos area when the tram hit her, killing her instantly.

She was dismembered in the collision, requiring 10 firemen to retrieve her remains from under the tram.

Service was interrupted for several hours.
