Bakoyannis criticizes gov’t for failing to compensate PSI victims

New Democracy MP Dora Bakoyannis on Wednesday criticized the conservative-led government for failing to take action to compensate about 15,000 small bondholders hurt by Greece’s debt restructuring program, or PSI, in 2012.

In a question submitted in Parliament for Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis, Bakoyannis said that despite the various pledges made to the victims of PSI over the last couple of years, none of these have been implemented.

“The state must find a way to fix the damage,” said Bakoyannis, asking the minister if the government has made any plans to make amends for the heavy loses.
