Greek general named next head of EU Military Committee
Greek general Michail Kostarakos was named on Monday as the next Chairman of the EU Military Committee.
Kostarakos, currently Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, will assume his duties on November 6 next year.
During his three-year stint, Kostarakos will be the military adviser to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the primary point of contact for the Commanders of the EU’s military operations and missions.
He will succeed General Patrick de Rousiers, who has been in the position since 6 November 2012.
