Composer Mikis Theodorakis leads a 6,000-strong crowd in a song from his Lianotragouda cycle, to poetry by Yiannis Ritsos, during a concert on Saturday on Makronisos, a desert island off Attica where up to 100,000 left-wingers were held in concentration camps during and after the 1946-49 civil war. Both Theodorakis and Ritsos were detained on Makronisos, where hundreds died.
