Swiss banker wanted for Siemens, arms scandals in Greek custody
A Swiss banker who was one of the key suspects in the Siemens cash-for-contracts scandal and in connection to allegedly corrupt arms deals is in custody in Greece, it emerged on Monday.
There has been an international arrest warrant for Jean-Claude Oswald, a former executive at BNP Paribas and Dresdner Bank, for some time but he was only recently arrested in Abu Dhabi, sources said. Swiss authorities had refused to extradite him to Greece.
Sources said that he has already faced a prosecutor in Athens and has been given time to prepare his deposition.
