House Speaker Zoe Constantopoulou renewed a call to Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras to appear before Parliament’s institutions committee after he failed to show up on Tuesday.
The commitee met Tuesday despite the fact that several members were not present. Constantopoulou read out a letter by the central banker in which he attributed his absence to a busy schedule. “If the committee convenes and has enough participants it can decide to allow the use of force,” Constantopoulou said.
“The reality is that those who are not attending are preventing Mr Stournaras from being brought by force to give evidence,” she said.
