Police on Paros nab man suspected of church, monastery robberies

Police on Paros on Thursday detained a 31-year-old man alleged to have stolen 150,000 euros’ worth of offerings from the Cycladic island’s historic Byzantine Panagia Ekatontapyliani Church and more than 160,000 euros in cash from a monastery on the island.

The suspect faced a prosecutor on multiple charges of theft.
