Prosecutor calls for conviction of driver in Petrou Ralli crash
A prosecutor on Friday called for the conviction of a 28-year-old Albanian national who lost control of his vehicle and killed three people on Petrou Ralli Street in Athens in October 2014.
A 24-year-old woman, a 30-year-old mother of two and a 23-year-old police officer died when the 28-year-old ran a red light and hit a group of pedestrians.
In court, the suspect apologized to the victims’ families and said he had no recollection of the accident, claiming he may have suffered an epileptic fit when he lost control of his vehicle.
The trial was adjourned until November 5.
