Divine justice thwarts would-be robber in Volos
A 34-year-old man who posed as a churchgoer in order to plunder a collection box and votive offerings in a church in Volos, central Greece, saw his plan thwarted when the parish priest inadvertently locked him in the premises.
After the late morning service at the Church of Saint Nektarios, the would-be burglar hid as he waited for the churchgoers to leave. He broke open the collection box and bagged votive offerings and other items of value.
But he could not get away as the priest had locked the church door and his efforts to pick the locks were in vain. On his return to the church in the afternoon, the priest found the thwarted robber and called the police.
