Peloponnese home robbed of 90,000 euros

Three men armed with a gun and a sledgehammer broke into a home in the village of Douneika in the Peloponnese on Christmas Day and made off with a safe that reportedly contained 90,000 euros.

Police said that the robbers attacked the 54-year-old owner and threatened his partner before tying the couple up.

The safe was located in a car dealership under the home, which was also owned by the 54-year-old, who had to be treated in hospital for his injuries.
